Having worked with Autistic teenagers who have the mental age of a toddler, this interactive learning device has been created to help them learn the alphabet. This piece combines learning the alphabet and numbers with movement. Research has shown that movement releases endorphins which relaxes autistic children who can often suffer from high levels of anxiety.
The children are presented with an interactive alphanumeric character. Using body and hand gestures they can trace the outline, starting over by clapping their hands should they make a mistake.
